Version history
1.2.0 (4 November 2026)
- Export and Import in both editions: save a campaign to a file, or open one, from the Save and Load lists. The file is the same in both, so a campaign can move between the browser and the desktop. See Saves.
- The desktop edition now saves itself at the end of every month, and Continue on the title screen picks up from there, as the browser edition does.
- Small drawing fixes in the desktop edition, so its screens match the browser's exactly.
1.1.0 (4 November 2026)
- Multi-player games in the browser edition: player names, invite codes, up to eight players, orders that take effect at once, your own battles replayed by the server, a time limit for each month (12 to 72 hours), the computer playing the month of anyone who misses it, and emails. See Multi-player games.
- Saves are format 3, which can hold several players' clans. Saves in formats 1 and 2 still open.
- The first desktop release, for Windows and Linux.
1.0.0 (3 November 2026)
- The browser edition at https://retro.theiguru.au/sengoku/: the desktop game ported to TypeScript, with the same rules, screens and music. Five save slots and an autosave in the browser.
- The game remade in the style of The Broken Seal: a 640 x 400, 16-colour screen, portraits, a map of Japan drawn by the game, and its own music. Save format 2.
- Fixes: training soldiers costs no gold; you cannot incite an uprising against an ally; new governors are made when needed; the lord escapes when his seat falls; the end of the campaign is checked properly; saves are read strictly.
