LORD FP is Legend of the Red Dragon rebuilt in Free Pascal. It is a line-by-line port of lord.js, Deuce's JavaScript LORD 5.02 that ships with Synchronet BBS, so it plays like LORD and like lord.js, with a number of lord.js bugs fixed (see Differences). One source tree builds three versions: DOS, Linux and Windows. LORD Server uses the Windows build too.
| Version | Download | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| DOS | LORDFP.ZIP | A complete DOS LORD game: unzip it into an empty directory, run LORDCFG, and it is ready to play. It keeps LORD 4.06's file formats, so it can also be dropped into an existing LORD 4.06 game, whose players and IGMs carry on. On Synchronet for Linux it runs under dosemu2, like any DOS door. |
| Linux | LORDFPL.ZIP | A complete native Linux LORD game: unzip it, run lordcfg, and add it to Synchronet. It reads and writes the same files as lord.js, so it can also take over an existing lord.js game. DOS LORD IGMs run from it under dosemu2. |
| Windows | LORDFPW.ZIP | A complete 64-bit Windows LORD game: a DOOR32.SYS door for Synchronet, Mystic and other Windows BBSes (see The Windows version). The same game files as the Linux version. DOS LORD IGMs run in DOSBox-X, which is included. LORD Server runs the same lord.exe. |
| Source | LORDSRC.ZIP | The Free Pascal source for all three, with the build instructions (see Building from source). It is also inside each of the zips above. |
Downloads: https://games.theiguru.au/lordfp/, and the Heisenbergs Files area on the BBS.
Each game zip is a complete game that installs from scratch. Nothing else is needed: each includes LORD 4.06's stock files (screens, scripts, docs and the data files IGMs look for). Upgrading an existing LORD 4.06 or lord.js game is optional and covered on each version's page.
