SyncTERM-Lua 1.9-lua5 - SyncTERM 1.9 BBS terminal with Lua scripting (unofficial fork of SyncTERM) Windows SyncTERM-Lua-1.9.5-x64.msi Installer (64-bit Windows, installs for your user only, no admin needed). Upgrades older versions. syncterm-1.9-lua5-win64.zip Same program without installing: unzip and run syncterm.exe. Linux (Debian/Ubuntu, 64-bit; Ubuntu 24.04 / Debian 13 or newer) syncterm-lua_1.9-lua5_amd64.deb sudo apt install ./syncterm-lua_1.9-lua5_amd64.deb Using scripts: while connected press F12. Load Script picks a script from the script folder, Run Script runs it. Alt-R records a new one. Script Folder opens the script folder: put .lua scripts you download there and they appear under Load Script. The script folder Windows %APPDATA%\SyncTERM\scripts Linux ~/.local/share/syncterm/scripts (SyncTERM Settings > Program Settings > Script Directory changes it.) Scripts that come with it (copied into your script folder when SyncTERM starts - each one once, never over a file you already have): lordbot.lua Plays a day of Legend of the Red Dragon 4.06: forest, master, gear, flirting, bank, Inn; player fights on days it has a fairy in its pocket. Start it in LORD at the "Enter the realm" menu or in the Town Square. twbot.lua Plays a day of TradeWars 2002 (local doors and TWGS): learns the map, trades port pairs, explores, avoids mines and Ferrengi, can buy holds or a better ship (asks first), parks in FedSpace. Start it at the sector Command prompt. example-login.lua A short login example. The bots write their logs (and twbot its map) into the script folder. SCRIPTING.md - "Scripts that come with SyncTERM-Lua" - explains what each one does, what it asks and which files it writes. New in 1.9-lua5 - twbot.lua fixes from its first live run: * A trade pair with nothing to bring back was dropped after one trip ("running low") - it now keeps trading it. * "Explore without a scanner" switches itself off for that game after the first defended sector, mines, or a lost ship. * It keeps enough turns to get home (or to StarDock to bank) from the far end of a trade pair, so the day no longer ends stranded in open space with the credits on board. - Already have twbot.lua in your script folder? Upgrading never replaces it: copy the twbot.lua next to this file over yours (F12 > Script Folder shows where it is). New in 1.9-lua4 - F12 menu: "Script Folder" shows where your scripts go and opens the folder in your file manager. New in 1.9-lua3 - twbot.lua, the TradeWars 2002 bot. - lordbot.lua: player fights on fairy days; saving its state works on Windows; heals after every fight that costs hitpoints; Olivia's hint only holds for the session she gave it in. - Scripts added by a newer release now arrive in your script folder on upgrade (before, only a brand-new folder was filled). Upgrading never replaces a copy you already have: to get the new lordbot.lua, copy it over yours from the program's scripts folder (Windows: "scripts" beside syncterm.exe; Linux: /usr/share/syncterm/scripts).
